Meryl Herr
Hi! My name is Meryl, and I am the author of When Work Hurts: Building Resilience When You're Beat Up or Burnt Out (InterVarsity Press).
Let's face it, sometimes work is really terrible, even downright heartbreaking. I wrote this book to help us learn to build resilience in the wake of work hurt. I believe building resilience is one way to help make work better. The other avenue? Helping leaders and managers create workplaces where their people can truly thrive.
When I'm not reading, writing, or thinking about making work better, you may find me at my home office helping my consulting clients do their work better.
Previously, I served as the Director of Research and Resources at the Max De Pree Center for Leadership at Fuller Theological Seminary. There, I oversaw and conducted original research that our team then translated into indispensable resources that equip Christian marketplace leaders to make a redemptive impact through their work.
I earned a B.S. in Math and Spanish from Vanderbilt University and an M.Div. and Ph.D. (Educational Studies) from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. I also completed a Graduate Certificate in Educational Research Methods through the University of Illinois-Chicago.
I'm represented by the lovely Keely Boeving of Wordserve Literary.
I live near Athens, Georgia with my husband and two sons.
